Alec Contestabile is an Emmy nominated and VMA winning production designer.

His career began in the art departments of Mad Men, Feud: Bette and Joan and The Amazing Spider-Man which nurtured a love of period design and a fine-tuned attention to detail.

Alec designed season 2 of the Emmy winning HBO Max series Hacks, receiving a 2022 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program.

He designed three seasons of the 1980s set Showtime series Black Monday starring Don Cheadle, Regina Hall and Andrew Rannells. His work on the series was featured in Architectural Digest.

Commercial work includes campaigns for Peloton, Diesel, Fox Sports, 76, Dominos, and the viral 2020 Planters Super Bowl ad featuring the death of Mr. Peanut.

Music Video work includes iconic videos for artists Kendrick Lamar, Camila Cabello, The Weeknd. Vince Staples, Flying Lotus and a 2021 MTV Video Music Award - Best Art Direction win for Saweetie ft. Doja Cat: “Best Friend”.

He is a graduate of Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Television receiving Dodge College’s Cecil Award for Production Design. He lives in Adams Hill with his wife, son and cat.
